As they walked the trail, one visitor suddenly stopped and began frantically moving his camera in the air. Eventually, he paused. What did he find? I took a look…
Ah, my little friend, the banded yeoman butterfly! Known locally as Bentara Jalur, they live here, with females laying eggs on Adina spp and Uncaria spp plants along the trail. Their caterpillars, spiky and yellow-black, love munching on these leaves.
The yeoman butterfly flies strong and fast and often basks in sunny spots. They love looking for salt and nectar, even puddling on someone’s foot!
Butterflies are crucial pollinators and their presence indicates a healthy ecosystem. Having the yeoman butterfly makes the Pulai Trail feel magical. I want to ensure they stay healthy here—what about you?

Oh, sahabatku, sang Bentara Jalur! Dia memang penduduk asal di sini. Banyak pokok Adina spp dan Uncaria spp di sini tempat mereka bertelur. Anak-anak mereka, ulat kuning hitam, suka mengunyah daun-daun pokok tersebut.
Sang Bentara Jalur terbang cergas namun sering bersantai di kawasan terbuka. Ia juga sering gemar mencari nektar dan garam, termasuk lah di kaki orang!
Kupu-kupu penting untuk pendebungaan dan kehadiran mereka menunjukkan ekosistem yang sihat. Kelibat sang Bentara Jalur di Pulai Trail ini sungguh menarik! Sama-sama kita pastikan mereka terus bahagia di sini.
