Help Reconnect Nature in Our Neighbourhood

Join citizen scientists in recording sightings of butterflies and birds to help monitor and understand how improvements to our green connectors affect local bird and butterfly populations over time.

About this project:

Citizen science allows you to actively contribute to real scientific research. In this study, we’re tracking the types and populations of common birds and butterflies around Bangsar over time. By recording your sightings, you’ll help gather important data that will be shared with scientists to better understand local biodiversity and species behaviour. Your participation plays a vital role in monitoring and protecting these species. Ready to get involved? Start recording today and help make a difference!

Why do we care?

Birds and butterflies are crucial indicators of the health of our ecosystems. Sadly, both are facing alarming declines in numbers. As we lose these beautiful creatures, we not only lose their ecological contributions—birds pollinate plants and disperse seeds, while butterflies play a key role in pollination and plant reproduction—but we also diminish the richness they bring to our lives. Their beauty, delicate flight, and songs brighten our world, feeding our souls and making nature feel more alive and connected.
